TVHRA Certification Preparation Class
For Fall 2026, the Tennessee Valley Human Resource Association (TVHRA) will again host a preparatory course for individuals planning to earn SHRM-CP or SHRM SCP certification. TVHRA is the SHRM chapter serving the Knoxville, TN and surrounding area. TVHRA was named a 2025 SHRM Learning System Champion.

Prior to registering, individuals should confirm through SHRM that they meet the eligibility requirements to take the exam. Specific information on eligibility, exam fees, and much more is available at www.SHRM.org.

CLASS INVESTMENT
The class investment, including the SHRM Learning System Materials/online access and expert instruction:
• $950 (TVHRA members) 
• $1,050 (non-TVHRA members)
ALSO – TVHRA Members who complete the class and then pass the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification exam will earn a $100 Mike Hudson Incentive Award paid directly to them (Must let TVHRA Professional Development Chair know when you passed to receive this award: [email protected])

CLASS DATES
The Fall 2026 class will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings, beginning on October 7 and ending on November 11, 2026. Classes will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

CLASS LOCATION
Classes will be held at the main campus (Hardin Valley) of Pellissippi State Community College.

The 2026 SHRM Certification Prep System features both hard-copy study guides and online interactive tools, with a roadmap for preparing.

Our Instructor, Jill Barnes, SHRM-SCP, PHR, MBA, is a long-time TVHRA Member/Board Member who brings over 20 years of training and teaching background to this important role. She offers extensive HR knowledge and experience, combined with enthusiastic support for professional certification.
