Our first annual TVHRA awards are coming up on December 13,, 2016. This will be a great night in which the TVHRA membership will celebrate our own individuals as we present awards to the HR Professional of the Year, Chapter Student of the Year, and a Lifetime Achievement Award to someone who excelled in HR for many years.
Nomination forms are now being accepted from the TVHRA membership for the professional of the year and the lifetime achievement award. If you have someone in mind who has excelled in HR for one year or many years, now is the time to nominate them for one of these prestigious awards. To download the nomination form, click here.
HR Professional of the Year
The HR Professional of the Year, presented by the TVHRA board, recognizes contributions to the Human Resource profession by any HR professional that is part of TVHRA. The call for nominations takes place in October of each year and the award will be presented during the TVHRA meeting in December.
Multiple awards could be presented at the meeting and the following criteria should be considered:
Service to the Chapter - such as leadership, committee participation, program development and participation and support of chapter goals activities
Service to the HR Profession - including leadership roles in SHRM at the state, regional or national level; leadership roles in other professional organizations, volunteer activities that increase awareness of and reflect favorably on the role of HR professionals, innovations in HR practices, acting as a resource to peers, mentoring students or young professionals, publications, research, teaching and training in the fields of HR and business in general
Service to the Community– Civic, community, charitable, and service organization involvement
Professional History- Education, experience, work history, record of professional growth, accomplishments, professional certification.
Student of the Year
This award, presented by the TVHRA board, will be presented to a student selected by the Human Resources Management Program Faculty and Staff at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. The award will be presented during the TVHRA meeting in December.
Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by the TVHRA board, will recognize an individual for the achievements they have made over a career in Human Resources. This person will have displayed many years of service to both the chapter and the profession and be considered a resource for all matters of Human Resources. The call for nominations takes place in October of each year and the award will be presented during a TVHRA meeting in December.
Rules and Criteria
- Panel of Judges will include the Chapter President, V.P. of Awards, and three designees of the chapter president’s choosing.
- Judges will not be eligible to be nominated for any of the awards.
- Nominee must be a current TVHRA member in good standing in order to be eligible.
- Nominations can be made by any current TVHRA member in good standing
- You can self-nominate.
- Cutoff for nominations is November 10, 2016
- The decision of the panel of judges will be final.
